Zero Rise clip ons and a new tri-top. Sounds like a simple job, right? Nope. The clutch and brake lines have essentially zero give. So from my analysis I have three options.

1) Angle grind the mounting bracket for the headlight off of the main bracket. Then welding the brackets back on in a lower position. This allows me to lower the headlight and mount the gauges underneath the tri-top giving a sleeker and lower look to the bike that goes really well with clip ons. This will also give me plenty of room to feed brake and clutch lines.

2) Drill a hole through the bracket to feed the clutch and brake lines through. Crude, but effective. Also does not allow me to lower the light and gauges.

3) Try and screw around with how the lines attach to the cylinder to find a way to make it fit.

Also, I’m hoping to get an order in for a set of boomtubes!

hehe. I know what its like fighting clip ons of a different size. You’d think they are easy, but NOPE.

Well, bike is originally a single bar so I can understand why the problems exist.

ah. my SV had clip on before the GSXR conversion. but I needed to mount the GSX-R clip ons for some measuring/moving the bike around.

went from the 3.5 inch rise to 0 rise.

holy shit. the cable lines did NOT like that. I went back to 3.5inch risers once I found them for 50MM forks, but god dam.

That tail kit cleans the bike up nicely, also I guess you don’t like paying tolls? That’s pretty far back to mount the plate!
